Simple Cleaning Essentials for a Natural Home
By Lauren Kellim
There isn’t much better than a fresh and tidy home! I personally love cleaning. As I was starting my company and had a newborn, I got to the point where I needed to hire a housekeeper; it was lovely to come home to a crisp, clean house, nut there was always a disconnect. I needed to make time to clean my own home.
I also wanted my daughter to see her mother clean her own house. I think it's really good to remember that we not only need our children to see us work hard at careers, but it's of equal importance to have them see us caring and nurturing for our homes. We are living in a time of business and over scheduling. Men and women no longer have defined roles. We are all working just as much, raising kids and still attempting to care for the house.
Well, I’m here to say, make room in your schedule to clean! If you want to feel like you really are trying to slow down and create more simple moments, eliminate something in your schedule to make time to take care for the space that is here to nurture you. This shift in putting more focus on cleaning will definitely reap some benefits. You will feel more connected to home and be proud of where you live. If you put the energy into taking care of the space you live in a natural way, it is bound to make you feel as if you are being cared for right back.
Housekeeping does not by any means need to feel mundane or boring; when we make a mental shift in how we view its importance this aids in the motivation to actually do it ourselves. When we use things that are good for our earth, beautiful to use, and functional it also adds joy to the task. Housekeeping does not need to be complicated either. If you keep your supplies simple and ingredients limited, the task will feel less daunting.
You really only need about 3 products to clean a house well. Here is a short simple list of our favorite, earth friendly, all natural cleaning essentials.
