LLOYD is Designed With Comfort, Silhouette, and the Environment in Mind
Mira Campbell and Kathy Hamagami, Owners
We are Mira Campbell and Kathy Hamagami, and we make up LLOYD. We are based out of Vancouver, Canada. Our studio is located on the east side of Vancouver. Our interests ranges from thrifting to boating, wine to textiles, and designing to socializing.
LLOYD is an independent clothing label created and ran by us (assisted from time to time by friends and family). Each LLOYD piece is designed with comfort, ease of care, silhouette, and the environment in mind. Our patterns are made with simple lines and natural fibre fabrics. All LLOYD items are hand made by us.
LLOYD unofficially began in late 2013 when we started to make clothing together as a Tuesday night hobby. Initially, we were just making things for fun --a creative outlet. As time passed, our friends and acquaintances showed more and more interest in our pieces. As such, we decided to start a small label. In late 2016, things became quite serious when we both started working on LLOYD full time.
LLOYD is named after the person that both introduced us and suggested that we start to make items together; at the time, he was the proprietor of the very cool Dunlevy Snackbar, Theo Lloyd-Kohls.
Probably the most unique part of LLOYD is that we make each piece ourselves. It is not often that the person who designed the pattern or owns the company is actually cutting, pinning and sewing together the garment that is ultimately for sale.
We also think LLOYD is unique because it is completely ours. It is something that we started with very little (some supplies and our own ideas) and has become everything to us.
