These days, I feel pretty comprehensively  defined by the roles as “mom” and “entrepreneur.” In the current fray of having just launched Blueland, that’s about all that I have time for these days. But I don’t mind because I also consider both to be the best jobs in the world.

My family, my company and myself are all based in NYC. Recently, I have been so inspired by all the people who have reached out to us to tell us that Blueland has really shifted their mindset on their own plastic consumption and that it is just the first of many steps they want and plan to take to begin consuming more consciously. It’s so exciting to not just be reaching people who are already eco-conscious, but also consumers who are new to the movement!

WHAT

Blueland is reimagining conventional personal care and household cleaning products to eliminate the need for single-use plastic packaging. The Company’s products will eliminate the need for over 100 billion plastic cleaning bottles in the US alone. Blueland is starting with household cleaners in the format of tablets that can be dissolved with water in reusable Forever Bottles.

WHEN

When I became a new mom, I was horrified to learn how many microplastics were in the water I was using to make baby formula. It was then that I decided to cut back on my own plastic consumption but then realized that I just didn't have any choice as a consumer. So many of our everyday products such as window cleaner, toothpaste and laundry detergent, all come packaged in just one way - single-use plastic. So I founded Blueland with the belief that you don't have to sacrifice a clean home for a clean planet. To make the biggest impact possible we've focused on making it easy for people to make the right choice with products that are effective, money-saving and convenient.

WHY

We’ve flipped all these assumptions on their head. Blueland offers everyday products that are proven to be effective and lower cost than any conventional cleaner on the market.

Our multi-surface spray. As a mom, it feels like a natural extension of my arm as I use it a dozen times a day to clean up messes and spills.  Smells and works great!

Since inception, we have also built every aspect of our brand and product as responsibly as possible. We partnered, from when Blueland was still just an idea, with Cradle to Cradle (C2C), the world’s most comprehensive product assessment and certification program. And we are the first and only cleaning spray to receive a Platinum rating across both bottle and formulation.
