5 Ways to Reduce Stress

Our lives can feel so busy at times and that often leads to us getting stressed out. As a student or a full-time worker, it’s hard to not to get stressed over deadlines and assignments. But when the world feels like it’s going to fall apart, just remember to take a moment to yourself. To help with manage your stress, here are my top 5 tips that will hopefully help keep you grounded.

It may seem silly but just stopping for a minute and focusing on your breathing can make all the difference. It brings you back to the present and helps get your head straight. When we get stressed, we tense up and forget to do the one thing that’s keeping us alive.


When your tasks are jumbled and due dates aren’t set in stone, it’s hard to keep track of everything that is due and needs to get done. Having a monthly calendar or planner to jot down important dates and to-do lists can really help you out. When you have that visual of an organized day or week, it settles your mind and you realize that you can get everything done.

Talk to someone.

If you’re anything like me, you tend to keep all of your problems bottled up. What I’ve learned from that is it’s not healthy. Keeping everything inside will drive you crazy. So turning to a friend or a loved one with what’s going on in your life that’s causing you stress, can help take the load off of you.

Self Care.

This one may seem obvious, but when you’re feeling stressed, don’t forget to take care of yourself. Whether that means taking a nice bubble bath or popping on your favourite movie, make sure to treat yourself kindly before getting back to work.


This can mean a killer workout or even just a walk. Getting your body moving and releasing some of the pent up tension that you’re feeling will allow you to forget what you’re stressing out about for a minute and just feeling the fresh air.

Whatever you might be stressed about just remember that you will get through it and come out of it stronger than ever!
